How to find qualified interpreters?

"There is no shortage of interpreters on the labor market but those with high quality are considered scarce" Ms. Vo Thi Bich Thuy, Manager of Permanent Recruitment and Consulting Services, ManpowerGroup Vietnam, shares at the seminar "How to find qualified interpreters?" organized by the Saigon Times in cooperation with RMIT on November 1, 2017. According to ManpowerGroup Vietnam’s representative, the current demand of interpreters and translators is mostly from FDI companies and it is increasing remarkably in recent years. Specifically, the electronic components manufacturing companies have a high demand of interpreters in English, Japanese, and Korean, while footwear and garment companies are in need of Chinese interpreters. In order to have this quality supply, training programs of schools should meet the needs of businesses and diversify the foreign languages that the labor market is currently in need of. Besides, in addition to the language skills, schools need to provide soft skills training to students, work closely with businesses to help their students expose to the real working environment earlier for good transition to their real work after graduation.
